Alyssa is originally from New Orleans, LA and grew up playing a variety of competitive sports. She was introduced to weightlifting by her track coach in high school and gained further experience in the weight room while on the track team at the University of Michigan. Alyssa used running and weightlifting as her stress relievers while in grad school. Once working as a physical therapist, she quickly realized that she was passionate about sharing her love of fitness with her patients. Alyssa started CrossFit in 2014 and was instantly hooked on the challenge, the results, and the community. She also believes that the CrossFit methodology can be applied in the rehab setting. As a coach, Alyssa enjoys the opportunity to help and motivate clients to go beyond wellness and strive for fitness. She believes that CrossFit can build not only a strong body, but also a strong mind; facilitating both the physical and mental toughness and resiliency needed to live a long and healthy life.
